Statement by the Syrian Embassy in Beirut: “A New Dawn for Syria” The Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in Beirut issued a statement declaring: “A new dawn has risen for our beloved country, Syria, now a final homeland for all its people, both at home and abroad. This comes after overcoming a difficult phase marked by injustice, harm, corruption, and marginalization that exhausted its national institutions and brought the Syrian people to despair. During this dark period, a corrupt system controlled the state’s resources, subjugating society and its institutions to serve its narrow interests.” The statement continued, “The revolution’s victory has brought a ray of hope to all Syrians, ending a dark era of destruction, corruption, deceit, and empty slogans led by an oppressive ruling clique. This era stripped Syria of its national talents, political life, and civil society, causing suffering for all citizens of diverse backgrounds.” It added, “This new phase requires the unity of all Syrians with their blessed revolution to move toward a future where national resources and talents are invested through state institutions.
