President Trump Gives Putin 10-Day Deadline Before Tariffs

President Donald J. Trump has issued a firm warning to Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating that the United States will impose tariffs if no response is received within 10 days. Speaking to reporters, Trump said: “I have not got any response from Putin. It is a shame.”

Trump emphasized that the tariffs would be enacted unilaterally and without further delay if Moscow remains silent. Though he did not specify which sectors the tariffs would target, analysts suggest potential focus areas could include Russian energy exports, raw materials, and critical trade goods.

Brushing aside concerns over economic fallout, Trump added, “I don’t worry about the oil prices,” signaling a willingness to challenge Russia economically regardless of global market volatility.

This warning comes at a time of renewed geopolitical tension and could further complicate U.S.–Russia relations, especially as Western powers continue to monitor Moscow’s activities across Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and global trade arenas.

The move is likely to spark significant diplomatic and economic reactions if the Kremlin fails to engage before the deadline.
