President Aoun: Lebanon Faces a Critical and Sensitive Stage
President Joseph Aoun emphasized today that Lebanon is passing through an extremely delicate and sensitive phase, requiring unified national awareness to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and independence. Speaking during a meeting with Reverend Joseph Kassab, head of the Evangelical Community in Syria and Lebanon, Aoun stressed the importance of adopting inclusive positions that preserve Lebanon’s unity, both land and people.
He further noted that communications are ongoing to address the repercussions of regional developments, with the aim of preventing their spillover into Lebanon. The statement comes amid heightened tensions across the Middle East, particularly following recent escalations in Syria and southern Lebanon, which have raised concerns about Lebanon’s internal stability and security.
Observers highlight that the president’s remarks reflect growing fears that sectarian or political rifts could be exploited amid external pressures, reinforcing the need for internal solidarity and a clear national strategy.
