🇱🇧 As part of Lebanon’s ongoing anti-corruption campaign, the General Directorate of State Security announced the arrest of a customs officer identified as (Y.T.) at the Arida border crossing. The officer was caught red-handed accepting bribes in exchange for processing administrative transactions.

The operation was conducted jointly by the North Regional Directorate and Akkar Regional Directorate, and the suspect is now under legal custody following the directives of the competent judiciary.

This arrest highlights the authorities’ commitment to combatting corruption within border and customs operations, which have long been plagued by bribery and smuggling allegations.
